A Hopkinsville man was rushed to the hospital after a report of a fire on Bassett Street Saturday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Firefighters say they were called for the smell of smoke and an alarm going off at Pennyrile Village just after 5 p.m.
A man was reportedly located inside the smoke-filled apartment and was unresponsive, he was taken by ambulance to the hospital with CPR in progress.
Firefighters say a pan on the stove caused the apartment to fill with smoke but no fire was found.
