Man Charged After Sunday Foot Pursuit

A man was arrested after he allegedly fled from police on East 9th Street in Hopkinsville Sunday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they were called to Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church for a man and woman camping out. When police arrived they located 21-year-old William Schultz who had an active warrant for contempt of court. Police say he was also found to have two syringes in his pocket. Police say he fled from them on foot before being stopped on East 11th Street where he continued to resist arrest.

Schultz was taken into custody and charged with second-degree fleeing or evading police and resisting arrest.
