UPDATE – Hopkinsville Man Charged After Firing Gun Into Car

Police have released the name of a Hopkinsville man that was charged after he fired a gun into a parked vehicle on Broad Street Saturday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 35-year-old John Talbert fired a gun into an unoccupied car four times near the intersection of Stanley Street after the owner had allegedly damaged his vehicle.

Talbert was arrested by police and shortly after being arrested an ambulance was called for an unrelated medical problem and he was rushed to Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

No one was injured in the shooting. Talbert is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment, retaliating against a participant in a legal process, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
