Hopkinsville Man Charged With Assaulting His Girlfriend

A Hopkinsville man was charged with assault after he allegedly punched a woman and tried to cover her face with a pillow on Griffin Bell Drive Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old Gabriel Jackson got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend, and when she tried to leave he strangled her, punched her in the mouth, and covered her face with a pillow.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and fourth-degree assault.
