Hopkinsville Man Charged With Fleeing From Police

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he allegedly fled from police Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they attempted to stop 54-year-old Michael Evans on East 22nd Street and he fled before being stopped on Hazel Street near Hancock Street. During the stop police found a glass pipe, and Evans was found to have an active warrant.

Evans was arrested on a warrant for theft by unlawful taking after he allegedly took two bottles of alcohol from a store and concealed them in his pants without paying for them.

He is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police and possession of drug paraphernalia.
