Students of Gateway Academy to Innovation and Technology were presented with certifications and stoles during the inaugural awards ceremony Thursday night.
Principal Penny Knight says the special ceremony has been five years in the making.

Among the growth of the school, Knight adds there are some additional changes coming next school year.

Before handing out certifications to students, she thanked her staff for all the hard work they put in throughout the year.
Knight presented certifications earned during the year in automotive technology, biomedical sciences, computer science, culinary arts, electrical construction, engineering, health science academy, marketing, and welding.
She also presented the Ambassador of the Year award to Eric Hines.
