Warm the Children is a campaign that started nearly 25 years ago to help children in need in Hopkinsville and Christian County around Christmas time and even though the holiday season is over they need donations to help with this year’s program.

Organizer Willie Renshaw says they are accepting donations to help over 200 children for the 2019 holiday season.

Renshaw adds all the money raised has helped families in need, with no money spent on operating costs for the organization.

He says the organization began in 1995 when he noticed a need in the community.

This year’s event will kick off the week before Thanksgiving and will run through late December. Warm the Children provides around $80 for each child to purchase warm winter clothing.
