Hopkinsville Man Charged With Assault And Robbery

A 38-year old Hopkinsville man already in jail is facing additional charges after he was served a warrant Wednesday.

On December 17, according to the warrant, 38-year old John Trump forced his way through the front door past a female victim and then took her cell phone, physically assaulted her causing minor injury and stopped her from leaving the residence to get help. When he fled the scene, Trump reportedly ripped the victim’s cell phone from her grasp and left the scene with it.

Trump, who is incarcerated in the Christian County Jail for violating a restraining order, is charged with fourth-degree assault – dating violence minor injury, second-degree robbery, and second-degree unlawful imprisonment.
