Police Chase Leads To Arrest Of Princeton Man

A Princeton man is facing numerous charges after a police pursuit reportedly reached speeds over 100 mph and covered 11 miles in Caldwell County late Saturday night.

Princeton Police Chief Chris King reports the pursuit began around 11:50 p.m. when officers responded to a report of a wanted person in the parking lot of Walmart. Upon arrival, the suspect later identified as 24-year old Joseph Pierce fled the scene heading east on US 62 west and then got onto I-69 at which time police say the pursuit reached speeds of 105 mph. Pierce then got off the interstate at Exit 81 and turned north onto KY 293 where the pursuit continued until he turned onto Donahue Road lost control at the dead end and ran off the roadway. Officers arrested Pierce and his passenger, 23-year old Tyler Long of Princeton.

Pierce was charged with first degree fleeing or evading police, first degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, as well as alcohol, meth, theft, and traffic-related offenses. He was also served a Caldwell County bench warrant charging him with Failure to Appear. Long was charged with possessing meth and drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property.
