A Cadiz business is accepting donations for a family who lost their home in an early Sunday morning fire.
Barkley Plantation Assisted Living Owner Clara Beth Hyde tells the News Edge she is collecting donations for longtime employee Candance Whipple and her mother Elizabeth, the homeowner.
Hyde adds they started receiving donations after news broke about the fire.
According to Hyde, Cadiz always bands together to help a neighbor in need.
As we have previously reported, Cadiz Fire Chief Kerry Fowler reports firefighters were called to 433 Hillview Drive around 1:00 Sunday morning to battle the fire. Fowler says 10 firefighters responded to the call and remained on the scene for more than two and a half hours. He adds the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
