A Flood Watch will go into effect Wednesday evening and last through Thursday evening for all of western Kentucky.
Paducah National Weather Service meteorologists say a slow moving frontal boundary will bring several waves of rain and a few thunderstorms to the region Wednesday into Thursday. Rainfall totals could range from 3 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.
Forecasters advise that falling leaves may clog drainage systems and impede the normal course of water runoff.
A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible and Flood Warnings could be issued at any time for areas that receive a lot of rain at one time.
