Virtual Learning Academy “Classroom”

Are you looking for a place for your children to complete their VLA work? How about setting up your “classroom” in a fun, educational, accessible space?
The Pennyroyal Area Museum is open and available for students in the Virtual Learning Academy on Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10am until 4pm. The Museum is equipped with desks that are spaced for social distancing, and we have free WiFi for you to use.
Use of the space is free; however, space is limited. Desks may be reserved online at http://www.museumsofhopkinsville.org/museum-available-for-vla/ ‎or by calling the Museum at 270-887-4270. Otherwise, desks will be available on a first come-first serve basis. An adult must be present with student(s) at all times. Regular admission is required if touring the museum.
The Museum also offers activities for homeschool and VLA students to use as they explore the exhibit gallery. These interactive worksheets follow six of our exhibit sections and engage students with puzzles, writing prompts, and educational games. Hands-on projects and craft ideas are available by request. Gallery sections featured are the Pennyroyal Plateau, the Commonwealth, the Neutral State, Farming in the Black Patch and the Tobacco Wars, Hoptown Boomtown, and the Edgar Cayce exhibits. Activities are appropriate for ages 7-12 and can be modified with notice. Choose one area – or complete them all! Regular admission rates apply for educational activities and museum visit.
