History on Tap: The Divine Nine

This month, we are featuring the history and stories of the Divine Nine, the popular name for the National Pan-Hellenic Council, Inc. that serves as the umbrella organization representing Black Greek-letter organizations. Local members of each of the fraternities and sororities in the Divine Nine will share a bit about the history of their organization, the importance of that organization to the community, and the presence that they have in Hopkinsville and Christian County.
Greek-letter organizations included in the Divine Nine are Alpha Phi Alpha, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, Zeta Phi Beta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Iota Phi Theta. Altogether, the organizations’ membership exceeds 1.5 million people internationally.
