A Cadiz woman was charged with fleeing from law enforcement during an investigation into harassing calls to her ex-employer Wednesday afternoon.
Cadiz Police Chief Tyler Thomas says he was called to Jolly Way for 21-year-old Nicara Allen, who kept calling her former employer harassing the staff, and cursing about unemployment paperwork.
She was reportedly located in the parking lot of the business after she had already been trespassed from the business.
Thomas says that as he approached her vehicle parked next to his vehicle, he advised her to turn off the car and step out of the vehicle, but she didn’t and drove off.
She reportedly led law enforcement on a pursuit, failing to stop at stop signs or stop lights and going 40 mph over the speed limit.
Thomas says he and other officers boxed in her car on Lincoln Street, and she got out and fled on foot to her apartment before being tased and taken into custody.
She was taken to the hospital to be checked out before going to jail on charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police, speeding, third-degree criminal trespassing, resisting arrest, and several traffic violations.
Thomas says they also received phone calls from her at dispatch with her cussing and using obscene language about the exact same incident.
