A partnership between Black Soil of Kentucky, the Todd County Chamber of Commerce, WEKT, and Your Ag Edge Network will yield a variety of produce that will be given away during the Elkton Harvest Festival Saturday.
Todd County Chamber member Kelvin DeBerry organized the purchase of produce from Todd County farmers for the giveaway. DeBerry says it took a little work to locate farmers who still have produce, but through his contacts he was able to put together a nice selection.
DeBerry says the farmers were happy to receive a check for some of their late season produce.
He adds the Black Soil food distribution will benefit any community members who want to participate.
DeBerry says he enjoyed organizing the food purchase that will benefit farmers and community members.
The Black Soil Sprout food truck will be parked near the Elkton Post Office Saturday during the Elkton Harvest Festival.
