Barbeque Shack Too Possibly Reopening In September

Barbeque Shack Too owner Mindy Hargrove says the popular restaurant in Herndon could reopen for business as early as September 12th.

Hargove says the roof of the pit area collapsed as the result of the fire Wednesday, with the dining area sustaining major smoke and water damage. She adds the fire apparently began as they were cooking meat on the pits to sell on Thursday. Hargrove owns the business, with the building owned by Knockum Hill Barbeque founder Will Hargrove. Hargrove says they are currently waiting on the insurance adjusters to finish their work and turn the building back over to them before they can begin working on a temporary plan to reopen.

She says they plan to reopen Barbeque Shack Too in Herndon using their food truck as soon as possible. Hargrove says they could tentatively be back open by September 12th. She adds they will continue serving food out of the food truck until the building is ready to use again.

The restaurant is managed by Jeremy and Tabitha Strader.

The Herndon Fire Department responded to the fire Wednesday morning, with firefighters from Lafayette, Oak Grove, Westside, Pembroke, and Square Deal called to help extinguish the fire. Herndon Fire Chief Neil Farmer says no one was injured in the fire.
