Rain Doesn’t Hinder Final Night Of Christian County Cattleman’s Rodeo

A large crowd finished out the 2024 Christian County Cattleman’s Lonestar Rodeo Saturday night, with a mid-rodeo downpour not dampening the spirits of the festivities.

As a part of the festivities the Christian County Cattleman’s Association celebrated 25 years and Lonestar Rodeo that is headquartered in Crofton Celebrated 75 years.

Christian County Cattleman’s Association member Jarrell Long was recognized as the Cattleman of the Year. Although Long wasn’t able to be on hand, his wife Judy, sons Chris and Brice Long, and their families were on hand to be recognized.

The 2024 Christian County Cattleman’s scholarship winners were also announced during the rodeo. The scholarship recipients are Walker Ashby, Riley Bailey, Carly Chadoin, Carson Gilliam, Brooke Jenkins, Luke Jenkins, Lucas Ketzel, Allison Luttrull, and Mason Swain. Riley Bailey was also the winner of the prestigious Fred Garnett Memorial Scholarship.
