Mr. Wayne Settle, age 73 of Clifty, passed away Friday, August 16, 2024 at his daughter’s residence in Hopkinsville, KY. Services will be Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home in Elkton, KY with Rev. Jerry Sweeney officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery in Todd County. Visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Latham Funeral Home and after 12 noon on Tuesday until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Settle was born September 29, 1950 in Greenville, KY. He was a car salesman and a member of Clifty Christian Church. Wayne was a member of the Clifty Volunteer Fire Dept. where he served as the Safety Officer. Also he headed up the development of and funding for the Clifty Community Park. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arnett Settle and Earlene Borders Settle Shelton, his brothers Randall and Larry Settle, and half brother Jim Settle, and his half sister Shirlie Settle.
He is survived by his daughters, Wendy Mize of Hopkinsville, KY, and Staci Sohn of Clarksville, TN, his sister Rita Stokes and her husband Phil of Elkton, his stepson Dan Collins and his wife Agnes of Bowling Green, KY his stepdaughter Rita Lear and her husband Timmy of Clifty, KY, his grandchildren Mallory Mize Choate and her husband Jake, Meaghan Mize, Jeri Ann Lear White and her husband Kamryn, Kayli Rhodes and Noah Sohn, his great grandchildren Hudson Hardie, Cooper Choate and Karsyn Henson.
