Man And Woman Charged With Possession Of Drugs In Hopkinsville

A traffic stop on North Main Street in Hopkinsville led to drug charges for a man and woman Wednesday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped a car driven by 31-year-old Austin King for an expired tag and found him to have a BB gun in his lap.

He reportedly dropped a container with a fentanyl pill inside on the ground and had some kind of orange substance believed to be klonopin in his mouth.

Police say after a search of his car and belongings owned by his passenger 25-year-old Destiny Camplin meth, marijuana, klonopin, syringes, unknown white pills, and a jar of some kind of liquid was located.

King was arrested and charged with prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), possession of meth, trafficking marijuana, possession of synthetic drugs, trafficking fentanyl, tampering with physical evidence, driving on a DUI suspended license, and no registration plates. He also had a warrant for failure to appear.

Camplin was also arrested and charged with prescription controlled substance not in proper container, first-degree possession of a controlled substance  (drug unspecified), and possession of meth. She also had a warrant for probation violation.
