Christian County Grand Jury Returns Indictments for Wanton Endangerment, Rape, and Sexual Abuse

The Christian County Grand Jury returned multiple indictments Friday including on wanton endangerment of a police officer, rape and sexual abuse charges.

The grand jury indicted Remon Irving, of Winchester, on misdemeanor and several felony charges including fleeing and evading police in a vehicle, criminal mischief, using restricted ammunition during a felony with no shots fired, and five counts of first-degree wanton endangerment from an incident May 11th.

Jonathan McGann of Nicholasville was also indicted from the same incident on charges of fleeing and evading police in a vehicle, using restricted ammunition during a felony with no shots fired, and traffic-related offenses.

The charges against Irving and McGann are from a pursuit that began when Oak Grove Police attempted to stop them on motorcycles on Fort Campbell Boulevard. However, officers said the men fled at speeds over 100 mph. Police were reportedly able to stop McGrann at the intersection of Crenshaw Boulevard after his motorcycle had mechanical issues. Police arrested Irving when he was stopped on East 9th Street after colliding with police cruisers that caused his motorcycle to run off the road into a ditch.

A true bill was returned on Thomas Quick, of Hopkinsville, on three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer from an incident on or about June 14.

The charges stem from a report of shots fired at the American Inn on North Main Street. Hopkinsville Police reported that when officers responded they found shell casings and heard several shots coming from the building in close range of the officers. They reportedly located Quick, who was firing shots.

Jeremy Tillman, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of criminal mischief, terroristic threatening and two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment related to a wreck on June 25.

Tillman is accused of using his vehicle to hit a car, pushing it into a utility pole on East 1st Street near the intersection of Mechanic Street just hours after he was released from jail. Hopkinsville Police said Tillman threatened the people in the vehicle and then fled the area in his vehicle before officers arrived at the scene. He was located by officers and taken into custody.

A true bill was returned on Charles Hall, of Portland, Tennessee, on six counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a victim under 12 years of age between January 1, 2015, and December 31, 2016.

And John Talbert, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on three counts of rape on or about May 26, 2024. Talbert is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a 17-year old girl, and him being at least 10 years older than the teen.
