Ruby Parker, 85, of Madisonville

Ruby Estleen Parker, age 85, of Madisonville, KY and formerly of Dawson Springs, KY, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at her residence. Ms. Parker was a Nurses Aid having worked for 20 years at Covington Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville, KY and having worked for several other area nursing facilities. She was a member of the Star of Bethlehem Church.

Ms. Parker is survived by two daughters, Rita Winters of Sebree, KY, and Ruth Ann Sorrells (Frank) of Nortonville, KY; two sons, John L. Parker (Marissa) of Madisonville, KY and Josh R. Parker (Lisa) of Christian Co., KY; three brothers, Glen Cotton of Earlington, KY, Billy Gale Cotton of Crofton, KY, and Jewell Lewis Cotton (Christy) of Nortonville; six sisters, Bonnie Meredith of Salem, IN, Robbie Edwards of Montana, Doris Moses (Leon) of Ohio; Sue Ramsey of Cadiz, KY, Sybil “Sissy” Cotton of St. Charles, KY, and Juanita Cotton of Hopkinsville, KY; nine grandchildren, Brandan Winters (Mandi), Britatani Baldwin (Jason), Ja-Nese Bean (Josh), Brock Sorrells (Jenny), Macie Parker, John Tyler Parker, November Reins Youngblood (Delia); Memphis Reins Youngblood; and Granddaughter-in-law, Kara Sorrells; ten great grandchildren, Briar Baldwin, Ayden Baldwin, Brilee Baldwin, Koltan Winters, Cammille Brown, Camden Bean, Cambryn Bean, Layla Sorrells, Lacie Sorrells and Jaxson Sorrells.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John D. Parker; a grandchild, Steven Sorrells; her father and mother, Jewell Cotton and Cybil Wells Cotton; and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation for Ruby E. Parker will be Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home, Dawson Springs, KY; and on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at 2:00 PM at Beshear Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Baldwin officiating and Rev. Brad Giffin assisting. Burial will follow at Union Temple Cemetery. Active pallbearers include Brandan Winters, Brock Sorrells, Memphis Parker, Tyler Parker, Briar Baldwin and Ayden Baldwin. Honorary Pallbearers include Koltan Winters, Jaxson Sorrells, Camden Bean and Cambryn Bean.
