Officials with the City of Hopkinsville announced Thursday the development of a new city logo, and they are seeking public opinion.
A strong and recognizable logo is essential for building a cohesive and vibrant brand that embodies community, identity, values and pride.
The logo will be prominently featured across various platforms to promote the city, attract visitors and foster a sense of unity among residents, and it will be used exclusively for marketing purposes.
The current city seal will remain intact, and will continue to be used for official city business, and all documentation.
The community will be surveyed through the entirety of August, using an online link.
In September, a local graphic designer will be selected to draft three-to-four logo options and color schemes, based on feedback.
Top logo designs will be finalized in October, where a selection committee — comprised of Hopkinsville citizens from the business community, student community, non-profit, agricultural, and arts and culture community — will collaborate with the designer to finalize two-to-three options.
Then, in November, it will be put to public vote — where the favorite option will win.
The new logo will be revealed in December.
Those who are graphic designers interested in designing the city logo should e-mail
Amanda.Brunt@h-ky.us and include three-to-four examples of work, along with an hourly rate.
