Man Charged After Trigg County High-Speed Pursuit

A Hendersonville, Tennessee, man was charged after a high-speed pursuit in Trigg County Monday morning.

Trigg County Sheriff’s deputies say they joined a pursuit on US 68 at South Road that started with Cadiz Police involving a motorcycle driven by 26-year-old Lemonte Newsome who was speeding and he fled at speeds of 120mph.

The pursuit reportedly crossed into Calloway County and ended on Hico Road when Newsome’s motorcycle ran off the road and he attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended.

Deputies say he had a backpack containing a large amount of money and marijuana.

He is charged with speeding, failure to or improper signal, reckless driving, second-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, no motorcycle operator’s license, failure to maintain required insurance, and first and second-degree fleeing or evading police.
