The U.S. Army’s 3rd “Rakkasans” Brigade Combat Team, of the 101st Airborne Air Assault Division, will conduct a welcome home ceremony July 17 at Fort Campbell.
Approximately 230 soldiers are redeploying from Eastern Europe and returning to America after a nine-month assignment in support of Operation European Assure, Deter, and Reinforce.
And since April 2023, the “Screaming Eagles” of the 101st have been in Eastern Europe, following President Joe Biden’s decision at the Madrid Summit to add another brigade combat team near Ukraine.
Col. Ricardo A. Turner, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, said the division’s work alongside partners and allies only further earned time home with friends and families.
