Five Schools From 2nd Region to Compete at Bluegrass State Volleyball Games

Five schools from the Second Region, including three from the 8th District, will be competing at the Bluegrass State Volleyball Games in Lexington this weekend.

Pool play begins Friday with those results to determine at Saturday matchups at eight different venues in Lexington.

Heritage Christian Academy’s pool at Lexington Christian Academy has a western Kentucky flair to it. The Lady Warriors (12-19) will play Calloway County (15-10) at 5:00 and Warren East (31-8) at 6:00.

Defending region champion University Heights Academy (36-3) will play Southwestern (15-20) at 2:00 and Lafayette (20-15) at 3:00 at Lafayette High School.

The Christian County Lady Colonels (20-12) will play its pool games today at Tates Creek High School. They will face Paintsville (27-10) at 2:00 and Central Hardin (36-5) at 3:00.

Caldwell County (15-18) will play its pool games at Lafayette High School. The Lady Tigers will face Marion County (23-12) at 4:00 and Christian Fellowship (10-17) of the First Region at 6:00.

Crittenden County (17-14) will play at Lexington Christian Academy. They will face Apollo (24-12) at 1:00 and Woodford County (25-7) at 2:00.

The games at the Bluegrass State Games do not count against a school’s limit of two preseason contests. The regular season for Kentucky high school volleyball begins on August 19.
