A rare washout at the Western Kentucky State Fair on Wednesday has pushed back military and first responder’s day to today.

Fair Board Chairman Brad Hewell said the call was made around 5:00 Wednesday to cancel the night’s activities due to severe storms that moved through Hopkinsville and Christian County and prompted the issuance of a severe thunderstorm warning.

It was the first time weather had a major impact on attendance since 2021.

Hewell said military and first responder’s night that was scheduled for Wednesday will instead be held tonight.

At the grandstand, it’s the farm and altered farm tractor and truck pulls at 7:00.
