A Hopkinsville man accused of a shooting in front of the Christian County Health Center that injured four people in April was among several indictments returned by a grand jury Friday.
The Christian County Grand Jury returned a true bill on Stephen Bussell, of Hopkinsville, on charges of tampering with physical evidence, three counts of complicity of assault, and seven counts of complicity of wanton endangerment. Bussell is accused of a drive-by shooting in front of the Christian County Health Department in April that injured four people, including three juveniles. Police said four people were taken to the hospital with two of the victims flown to other hospitals.
A true bill was returned on Lamonte Cole, of Jackson, Tennessee, on charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, and reckless driving, along with some traffic-related offenses. The charges stem from April when Cole is accused of leading Kentucky State Police on a high-speed pursuit when troopers tried to stop him for speeding on Interstate 24 near the Pennyrile Parkway. Police said the pursuit went into Trigg County where Cole exited onto US 68 and then returned to I-24 and traveled back into Christian County. The pursuit reportedly ended on KY 117 near the intersection of Cox Mill Road and Cole was taken into custody.
Jordan Houchens, of Hopkinsville, was issued an indictment on charges of first-degree rape, unlawful transaction with a minor and illegal controlled substances under 16 years of age. The indictment alleges Houchens engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year old girl through the use of force in March. He’s also accused of inducing, assisting or causing the victim to engage in illegal activity involving controlled substances.
A true bill was returned on Angel Gonzalez, of Oak Grove, on charges of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 or under and second-degree strangulation from an incident that occurred in April.
The grand jury indicted Eglacia Hancock, of Hopkinsville, on charges of second-degree criminal abuse of a child under 12 years of age from an incident that occurred in March.
Destinee Clark, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on charges of first-degree criminal mischief. The indictment alleges that Clark intentionally started a fire to destroy a vehicle in March.
A true bill was returned on Thomas Mitchell, of Cadiz, on charges of first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, third-degree terroristic threatening, and menacing. The charges are from March when Christian County Sheriff’s deputies reported that Mitchell caused a disturbance at the hospital after he was injured in a wreck on Pennyrile Parkway.
And, an indictment was issued for Kenneth Reinhart, of St. Charles, on a charge of failure to comply with the sex offender registry that was discovered by Hopkinsville Police during a March traffic stop on Ft. Campbell Boulevard.
