Two Charged With Criminal Abuse Of A Child

A Hopkinsville man and woman have been charged with criminal abuse after their child was found walking around alone Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say a 2-year-old was found walking around alone on Denzil Drive and after locating the mother on Kenwood Drive almost 2 hours later The Kentucky Department of Community-Based Services launched an investigation.

During the investigation, police say several floors in the home were falling in, animal feces, roaches, spoiled diapers, and dirty clothing were found inside the home. Little to no food was reportedly found.

Both parents 36-year-old Patricia Daniels and the father 42-year-old Jotham Vincent were charged with first-degree criminal abuse and two counts of first-degree criminal abuse of a child 12 years old or under.

All three children were taken into state custody.
