Vision Statement Set for Community Schools

The budget for the Community Schools grant in Christian County is headed to the Prichard Committee for approval. Director for Full-Service Community Schools, Nicole Poindexter says the Leadership Committee reviewed the three action items chosen by the Collaborative Combined Leadership group in April.

click to download audioTuesday night, community members gathered for the third Collaborative Combined Leadership meeting and picked a vision statement for the project.

click to download audioThe first year at both schools will expand and add programs that focus on active family and student engagement, integrated student supports, collaborative leadership and practices, and expanded and enriched learning times. The projected cost for programs at Christian County High School would be $248,000 and at Freedom Elementary School would be $65,500.

The budgets will go first to the Prichard Committee and then to the Kentucky Department of Education for approval.
