Man Charged After Forcing His Way Into A Home

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he forced his way into a home on Springmont Drive Saturday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say 34-year-old Phillip Hawkins forced his way into the home after the owner opened the door and damaged over $500 in property.

He reportedly would not let the owner leave but she was later able to flee out of the garage.

He was arrested and charged with second-degree burglary, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, and second-degree criminal mischief.
