Grand Jury Returns Multiple Indictments on Assault and Wanton Endangerment Involving Officers

The Christian County Grand Jury returned numerous indictments on various charges Friday, including assault and wanton endangerment of a police officer and burglary.

Detravius Dillard, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on a slew of charges including trafficking marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, three counts of criminal mischief and four counts of wanton endangerment of a police officer.

The charges stem from a traffic safety checkpoint conducted by Kentucky State Police on KY 1682 when officers reportedly smelled marijuana and asked him to pull over to the side of the road. Dillard was arrested after he allegedly fled in his vehicle and lost control at the intersection of KY 107 where he hit a guardrail.

A true bill was returned on Shycorian Bailey, of Hopkinsville, on multiple charges including assault of a police officer and three counts of terroristic threatening.

The charges stem from March 3 when Hopkinsville Police stopped Bailey for speeding. During the stop, officers said they could smell alcohol on Bailey and he started yelling. After he was arrested, police said Bailey pretended to be unconscious and while being transported to the hospital he punched an officer in the face after he threatened officers and EMS.

Terrell Howell, of Hopkinsville, was indicted on four counts of wanton endangerment. He’s accused of firing shots from his moving vehicle at two adults and two juveniles following a disturbance at the Hopkinsville Skate Park on January 21st.

A true bill was returned on William Spain on a single count of kidnapping from March 5th and 6th when he allegedly pulled a woman into his room at the Little River Motel. He reportedly duct-taped her mouth, feet, and arms and held her for 12 hours against her will before letting her go the next day.
