As firefighters were extinguishing a UTV fire a vehicle went around their vehicles and drove over a fire hose Saturday afternoon.

Fairview Firefighters say they were working to extinguish a UTV fire on Jefferson Davis highway behind Jeff Lear’s Trucking when someone drove through the smoke and around their vehicles and over a fire hose.

The driver was reportedly stopped by law enforcement and claimed he didn’t know what to do.

Firefighters say sometimes they are busy extinguishing the fire and are not able to direct traffic and ask for citizens to pay attention to what’s happening when approaching an emergency scene, and if you’re not sure, ask someone first before proceeding.

No one was injured in the fire.
