A man was charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry after a traffic stop on West 2nd Street in Hopkinsville Friday afternoon.

Hopkinsville Police say they stopped 25-year-old Tiaja Wilson for having a brake light out and during the stop, he gave officers a false name and was found to have marijuana and a juvenile in the vehicle.

Wilson reportedly told officers he had moved here about a month ago.

A passenger in the vehicle, 45-year-old Alana Young of Nashville reportedly tried to give officers a false name as well but after being warned she gave her real name and was found to have a warrant out of California.

Wilson was arrested and charged with failure to comply with the sex offender registry, operating on a suspended or revoked license, endangering the welfare of a minor, giving officers false identifying information, possession of marijuana, and possession of synthetic drugs.

Young was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a minor, and possession of synthetic drugs.
