Rondal Wilson Shreve, 74, of Hopkinsville

Funeral services for 74-year-old Rondal “Ron” Wilson Shreve, of Hopkinsville, will be 1 PM Monday, March 18, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.

Visitation will be from 11 AM until the funeral hour.

Survivors include:
Wife of 52 years, Clara Shreve, of Hopkinsville;
Son, Jason Shreve (Adrienne), of League City, Texas;
Daughter, Amy Wall (Dru), of Henderson;
Brother, Wendell Shreve (Monette), of Columbus, Indiana;
Sister, Barbara Dant, of Owensboro;
Four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He died Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

He was born November 5, 1949, in Reynolds Station, Kentucky, the son of late John Thomas and Gladys Wilson Shreve.

He was a postal carrier for the United States Postal Service for 22 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a combat engineer in the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart.

He was a Life member of D.A.V., Purple Heart Association, and V.F.W. Post 1913. Fifty-year member L.M. Cox Masonic Lodge #327, and Ophelia Charter 55 Order of Eastern Star. Rondal was a 32nd-degree Scottish Rite, 32nd-degree York Rite, and member of Shriner Moslem Temple in Ft. Worth, Texas, the National Association of Letter Carriers, and a Kentucky Colonel.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brescia College in 1978.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bobbie Shreve, John Shreve; and his sister, Carolyn Deason.
