Hopkinsville Man Faces Multiple Charges After Fleeing From Checkpoint

A Hopkinsville man was charged after he reportedly fled from law enforcement on Kentucky 1682 Saturday night.

Kentucky State Police say they stopped 23-year-old Detravius Dillard at a traffic safety checkpoint and could smell the odor of marijuana coming from his vehicle then asked him to pull over to the side and he drove off.

He reportedly lost control of his vehicle at the intersection of Kentucky 107 and hit a guardrail.

Dillard was arrested and charged with speeding, disregarding a traffic control device, reckless driving, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree criminal mischief, resisting arrest, DUI, first-degree wanton endangerment – police officer, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), and trafficking in marijuana.
