A Hopkinsville man was charged Thursday with kidnapping his two children and assaulting their mother.
Hopkinsville Police say 24-year-old Jacob Pruitt assaulted the mother of his two kids by hitting her in the face several times and then choked her before taking their two children and fleeing the area.
The children were later located at his family member’s home along with Pruitt but he fled on foot before being arrested. He was located in Elkton Thursday and charged with fourth-degree assault (domestic violence), first-degree criminal mischief, violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO, kidnapping, and second-degree strangulation.
