Christian County Schools Talk New Website and Playground Equipment

In the near future a quick internet visit could bring the latest information about Christian County School activities to your device. CCPS Athletic Director Kerry Stovall asked the Board of Education Thursday night to approve a three-year contract with rSchoolToday.

He adds this expands opportunities for those beyond the “front page news.”

Stovall says it will be easy to use on the back end and present ample opportunity for sponsorships.

The Board did approve the contract.

In other business, Dr. Jason Wilson asked the board to approve purchasing $200,000 in new playground equipment.

He adds moving it could be more costly in the long run.

The current equipment at Martin Luther King Jr Elementary School will be surplus at the end of the school year. The School Board approved the purchase.

Board members also approved bidding out refurbishing a school bus, which Finance Director Jessica Darnell says will be done with grant money.

Board Member Jeff Moore asked if it could be done in-house.

Superintendent Chris Bentzel says the bus will be a mobile classroom and add to the early education initiative of the district.
