Construction is moving along at the new Christian County High School.

Thursday night, the Board of Education received an update from Project Manager Kevin Hitchel.

He adds crews will continue to work daily as weather permits.

Board Member Jeff Moore asked about how many crews are currently working.

At the Board meeting, the School Board did vote to approve several change orders for the project, which Hafer Architect, Eric Rang says reflect changes to how the state measures max capacity of the gymnasium.

Alliance Corporation representative, Tim Geegan says the six change orders include the doors as well as recommendations from one of the companies on a material.

He adds while not all change orders can benefit the district, his group is working hard to make sure everything is done the right way.

The Board voted to pay $1.6 million to Alliance and the contractors for work in January as well as $60,000 to Hafer Architect all for work related to the building.
