Men2Be Plans Renovation Of Attucks High Schools

In three short years, Men2Be has grown to serve nearly 60 young boys, but organizers do not plan to stop any time soon. Co-founder Derrick Lewis says they are planning big things in the near future.

click to download audioHe says they have not decided what they will do with the property once it is finished. Lewis announced the projects at the Men2Be Brunch and Bowties event Saturday, where Mentor Vice Killebrew says the 57 young men in the program are making great strides in school.

click to download audioTwo of those boys made the Principal’s List and 10 made the honor roll. The Middle School Boys are also off to a great start fo the year.

click to download audioKillebrew says the High School boys improved drastically last year from 17 behavior events at the beginning of school to 3 at the end of the year and this year is off to an even better start.

click to download audioIn recognition of their great year, Councilman and teacher Matthew Handy represented the Matthew Handy Award of Distinction to HHS Senior Dewon McGee.
