Woman Seriously Injured In Old Madisonville Road House Fire

A woman was severely injured and a dog was killed in a house fire on Old Madisonville Road in Christian County Friday afternoon.

Westside Fire Department firefighter Rodney Boyce says a fire started in the kitchen causing extensive damage to the home and injured a woman who was inside.

The woman was able to get outside and was helped off of the porch by firefighters who also got a dog from inside the home and firefighter Brian Diamond attempted to give the dog CPR but was not able to revive the dog.

Boyce says due to the damage and the power having to be cut off at the home no one will be able to stay in the structure.

The woman was taken by ambulance to a waiting helicopter that flew her to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for severe injuries.

Westside Fire Department was assisted by Crofton and Highland fire departments.
