A Hopkinsville man was charged with assault after he reportedly assaulted his girlfriend on Lucky Debonair Drive Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say 29-year-old Jayontez Poindexter pushed his way into the home assaulted his girlfriend and choked her then possibly took her phone before fleeing the home.
He was later located and allegedly admitted to pushing her during an argument. Poindexter was arrested and charged with second-degree strangulation, first-degree burglary, two counts of fourth-degree assault
