The Tennessee Valley Authority set another record for peak power demand Sunday, January 21, as temperatures averaged a cold 12 degrees across the entire service area.
TVA spokesman Adam May says utility provider recorded a peak power demand of 34,284 megawatts at 8:00 Sunday morning. The peak power demand Sunday was the highest ever recorded during a weekend by TVA and the second highest all-time peak power demand.
