Police have released the name of a Hopkinsville man who was severely injured in a wreck on Canton Street in Hopkinsville Monday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say a car driven by 34-year-old Travis Bollinger was westbound at the intersection of West 16th Street when it slid off the road and hit a utility pole trapping him inside the vehicle.
He was cut from his car by Hopkinsville Fire and EMS by using several tools including the jaws of life.
Bollinger was then taken by Hopkinsville EMS to Jennie Stuart Health and later transported by ambulance to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville with severe injuries.
Authorities checked with multiple helicopters but due to weather, they were not able to transport him to Nashville.
The crash happened just before 9 a.m.
