Julie Alexander, 45, of Cave City

Julie Alissa Alexander, age 45, of Cave City, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at her home of natural causes. The family has chosen cremation with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family to handle the arrangements. 

Ms. Alexander was born in Lexington, on October 24, 1978, the beloved daughter of Janie Frederick Alexander and the late Glen Alexander. She graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelor’s Degree and worked as a Field Representative for the United States Census Bureau. Among her many pursuits, she was a founding member of Zingara belly dancing troop, a teacher of belly dancing, and a costume designer for Glasgow’s Children’s Theatre. She was a member of The Lotus Dancers and a founding member of WyldGarden where she organized festivals.  

In addition to her mother, Janie Alexander of Hopkinsville, survivors include her brothers, Jared (Emma) Alexander of Hopkinsville, Ben Alexander of Hopkinsville; and her life partner of 23 years, Eddy Sakowicz of Cave City, KY. Julie was also an amazing aunt to her nephew Patrick Corcoran and niece Phoenix Alexander and a nurturing caretaker to all in her circle.
