Woman Charged With Possession Of Drugs In Trigg County

A woman was charged with possession of drugs after a traffic stop on US 68 in Trigg County Tuesday night.

Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree says 39-year-old Ashley Jenkins was stopped in connection to a man who was in her vehicle that had been released from a hospital after an officer-involved shooting in Marshall County.

She reportedly stopped at the Shell Gas Station and attempted to hide meth before the traffic stop.

Kentucky State Police say they were called to Marshall County for an officer-involved shooting Tuesday morning and one person had been taken to Lourdes Hospital and a second man had been arrested and charged with first-degree burglary.

Jenkins was arrested and charged with possession of meth, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. she was also found to have warrants for contempt of court and failure to appear.

The investigation is being handled by Deputy Ryan Gallogly. No other information about the officer-involved shooting has been released.
