A Hopkinsville man was charged with assaulting his girlfriend on Hill Street Tuesday afternoon.
Hopkinsville Police say 50-year-old David Johnson assaulted a woman by slapping her, twisted her arm, and choking her.
He was arrested after she showed up at the hospital with injuries. Johnson is charged with second-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault domestic violence.
