Dr. Wade Kadel, 85, of Hopkinsville

Funeral services for 85-year-old Dr. Wade Kadel, of Hopkinsville, will be 2 PM Sunday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the funeral hour.

Survivors include:
His wife of 64 years, Jackie Kadel;
His children, Kathryn (Brad) Ford, of Evansville, Indiana, Lynn (Billy) Garnett, of Hopkinsville, and Adam Wade (Jill) Kadel of Asheboro, North Carolina;
His sister, Georgia Huffman, of Fort Worth, Texas;
13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dr. Wade Kadel, died at 3:50 a.m. Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

A native of Springfield, Missouri, he was born July 7, 1938 the son of the late Keith Randolph Kadel and Dorothy Ann McLean Kadel.

He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a veterinary pathologist and retired as the Director of Breathitt Veterinary Center. He was a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians.

He was an active member of First Christian Church in Cadiz, where he had served as a deacon and Chairman of the Board. He was a member of the Hopkinsville Rotary Club where he had served as President and Auction Chairman. He chaired the first Rotary Auction to be televised.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hopkinsville Rotary Club.
