South Virginia Street Home Damaged In Fire

A home that has been converted into two apartments on South Virginia Street was damaged in a fire Monday morning.

Hopkinsville Fire Department spokesman Payton Rogers says a fire in the area of the power meter damaged the home and led to the power being shut off.

The fire was quickly extinguished by an employee of the Hopkinsville Water Authority who noticed the smoke.

No one was injured but due to the power having to be cut off no one will be able to stay in the home temporarily.
