Milling And Paving At I-24/U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 Starts Monday

A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans milling and paving work at the I-24/U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 Interchange beginning Monday as part of bridge approach and ramp milling and paving at numerous locations along Interstate 24 and Interstate 69.

District 1 spokesman Keith Todd says the contractor plans to mill up rough pavement along U.S. 62 through the interchange from near the westbound exit and entry ramp ends, extending westward to the traffic signal at Days Inn Drive and the Hucks Travel Center entrance. The crew will also mill the exit ramp from I-24 westbound to U.S. 62.

According to Todd, a paving crew will return to pave these same areas during the week. He indicates the westbound may have to be closed for a time during milling and paving operations.

Motorists should use appropriate caution and be alert for one-lane traffic while crews are working in this area. Todd notes some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.

Todd says this is part of a larger project that includes paving of bridge and overpass approaches along I-24 and I-69 in parts of Graves, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, and McCracken counties.
