Woman Charged With Endangering The Welfare Of A Minor

A Hopkinsville woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor after a drug investigation on North Elm Street in Hopkinsville Thursday morning.

Hopkinsville Police say 42-year-old Jyvette Watkins came to Christian County High School to pick up her child and was told by law enforcement they would be coming to her house due to the strong odor of marijuana to make sure staying in the home was not a danger to the juvenile.

During the investigation, marijuana was reportedly found on top of the juvenile’s dresser, a vape containing THC on the bed, a smoking pipe on the floor, a digital scale, and a gun case under the bed.

Police say Watkins raked the marijuana off the dresser destroying it and was screaming. She was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, second-degree disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana, and tampering with physical evidence.
